Parents are key Stakeholders of LBEC, and as a result we are looking to develop a Laisterdyke Parent Partnership group.
The first meeting was held on Wednesday 25th January. It was very successful, resulting in positive input from parents, and was followed by a similarly successful meeting on 7th March.
Leading on from this the next meeting will be held on Wednesday 25th May, 9.30am at the College. All Parents are welcome to this meeting. Come along and have some refreshments with us and discuss college matters.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Mr Abdul Aziz (Community Development Officer), Miss Farzana Hussain (Community Enterprise Manager) or Mrs Lynne Harrison (Vice Principal, Inclusion) at the college on 01274 401140
We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.

Leap Into Books took place for the 6th year, over the Easter Holidays. It's a high impact literacy promotion project, bringing together writers (Alan Gibbons, Jon Mayhew, Robert Rigby and Bali Rai) and storytellers (Nick Hennessey, Pete Chand, Richard O'Neill, Jo Blake and Fran O'Boyle) to Bradford to work with a hundred children from Laisterdyke, and our partner primary schools. A good time was had by all. Below is a short video put together using Animoto, containing photos from the event. For more information, and many more photos, see the event website.

Parent Portal Launches
Written by Adrian Thompson
Wednesday, 21 March 2012 08:34
Parents of year 7 students can now make use of our new Parent Portal to track their childrens progress, check reports and attendance, and much more. The Parent Portal can be accessed via. the link on the left. Parents involved in the initial trial will have received a letter containing a username and password unique to their child. If you are the parent of a Year 7 student in the school, and have not received this, please contact the school. Initially, the trial is being run with Year 7 only, but will be extended to other students if it proves successful.
We would be very interested in your views of the parent portal, and what we could add to make it more useful from a parents point of view. If you have ideas, please contact the school, and let us know!
A user guide for the Parent Portal is available for download from the Useful Documents link on the menu - it's in the 'Information for Parents' section, and is also available from inside the portal, once you've logged in.
